Polkadot Global Football Foundation
The Polkadot Global Football Foundation is a humanitarian foundation that operates under 5 key principles we call the Polkadot Global Football Initiative:
- Assisting post-war communities to play football promoting tolerance & understanding.
- Fostering and facilitating a love of football throughout the world.
- Growing global understanding about blockchain & Polkadot and the Web 3.0 economy.
- Spreading global understanding about Blockchain and Polkadot.
- Partnering with communities, governments and private organisations to achieve meaningful change.
We are in the early stages of this long term initiative and are asking the community to support the work done with a retroactive tip.
What we have done so far
In consultation with the community, developed a strategic plan.
Presentations plus community Q&A at the AAG on the 21st and the 28th of June
Researching the Football Foundation ecosystem to identify potential partners.
Researching charitable organisation structures and incorporation in different states.
Researching about Polkadot Growth Strategy
Researching about Football as a healing tool for Trauma affected communities
Research about war and international conflict to inform our #ceasefire2026 campaign
What we plan to do next

- Developing an appropriate Polkadot-themed brand identity
- Creating an operational code of ethics
- Establishing a financial policy for budget and cost control

About me:
Damian Amamoo is a licenced football coach and social entrepreneur. He has run a large number of health-focused projects for disadvantaged Indigenous peoples in Australia as part of his business Inception Strategies. Damian also is a regular contributor to blockchain regulation and policy papers in Australia and the USA via his digital assets business Doxed Capital. Damian is passionate about reducing the impact of war across the world and is motivated to partner with Polkadot to establish innovative human rights initiatives that use digital assets and the universal language of football to support healing from trauma and the human rights of women and children.

Lucky Friday would like to provide the following feedback from our team members. We have been specifically solicited to provide feedback on this particular referendum, collectively offering it and hope that it will help the proposer(s) of this referendum moving forward. As noted previously, we have voted NAY.
On the positive side, the team largely appreciated the novel approach to introducing people to the Polkadot ecosystem through the universal appeal of football as a global sport.
Most of our team members were confused as to why there would be an ask for a tip from someone new to the ecosystem. This feature is largely used to reward people who have proactively given back to the ecosystem with little to no expectation of payment, and typically issued from someone else in recognition of good work that has benefitted the DOT token holders.
Lucky Friday believes in the notion of "shared risk" that mirrors traditional public-private partnerships. All of what has been done up to this point--which is laudable--has been your part of the risk. Putting in the time and effort to do research, share your vision with the community, etc, all without expectation of payment. If the DOT token holders believe in the project long-term, though, they will then take on some of the risk by providing funding.
Lucky Friday votes as a collective based on the results of our internal voting procedures and enacted on chain via the OpenGov server bot. No single team member is required to provide any feedback about why he or she has voted in a particular direction, although it is highly encouraged and happens often. With respect to our team members' right to anonymity and the private format in which we conduct our votes, we will not be sharing the names of individuals who have chosen to provide said feedback.

Thanks for recognising this humanitarian football initiative as a new, novel and great opportunity for the ecosystem to demonstrate its commitment to help fostering a kinder and safer world where there is more football, less war and a connection with the largest sporting event on earth - Football World Cup 2026.
Regarding the confusion of your team members as to why a "new person" would ask for community sponsorship, firstly, we would like to point out that whilst we might be new to OpenGov, we are not new to Web 3.0.
Secondly, we would like to point out that there are a number of other sports project refs from relatively new identities on OpenGov, for considerably more funds, that have been approved.

Our team understands the principle of 'shared risk' however we all live in a competitive landscape. My team thought it best to commence with a very small ask to test the water and see if the community was interested in a Polkadot football project with humanitarian outcomes, to walk with us in a small way, in good faith.
It is true, we have personally spoken with incredibly committed and hardworking members of the community who literally have put in hundreds of hours before asking for anything from Open Gov and equally, we have also seen other projects appear suddenly and walk out with very large amounts of DOT.
We believe in the decision-making process of OpenGov that allows the community to speak and make its own decisions. That our proposal is presently meeting with a high level of NAYs does not indicate that the community does not care about humanitarian issues, football, ceasefires or the World Cup 2026. It is likely to be other reasons, which we are hoping to identify in the comments and feedback to our ref. So if you did vote NAY please consider telling us why and if you voted AYE we would equally love to see a comment from you as well.
