We did submit this event to the Events Bounty, but it is running short on budget and funding its final set of events.
This proposal aims to cover the costs of Polkadot participation at Blockchain Rio Leaders and Blockchain Rio 2024 from July 23th to July 25th in Rio de Janeiro. The activities encompass a Platinum sponsorship package with a booth featuring Polkadot, mainstage talks, panel participation, branding on conference materials and a side event with decision makers called “Blockchain Rio Leaders”.
Rio de Janeiro is one of the biggest cities in Brazil, with over 6 million inhabitants. Blockchain Rio 2023 was one of the largest Blockchain Events in Brazil. It was dedicated to presenting innovations in blockchain technology, featuring hackathons, workshops, booths, and talks.
The 2023 edition attracted more than 18,000 attendees, including representatives from 1,061 cities and 65 nationalities. There were 5 stages, 432 speakers, 86 exhibits, and 1,762 participants in the hackathons, with 44 mentors and 28 judges. This year we are expecting from 11,000 to 15,000 attendees.
Polkadot participated with a Platinum sponsorship package, the same package we are looking to maintaining for the 2024 edition.
This year's edition is marked by Brazil's aggressive investment in blockchain technology, as evidenced by the development of the Brazilian CBDC, enterprise companies closing deals with blockchains, the growth of asset tokenization platforms, and more ecosystems joining this upward movement.
The following industries and governments will be represented at the Blockchain Rio 2024 event: Digital Assets, Technology, Financial Market, Legal, Marketing, Energy, Logistics, Education, Real Estate, Gaming, Art, Fashion, and Music - all industries where Polkadot can have a strong impact.
