OpenSquare Identity Registrar Application

Deciding

OpenSquare is a team of developers, and we released subsquare, statescan, dotreasury, off-chain voting in the polkadot ecosystem. We propose to add OpenSquare as a registrar so that users can verify their identity on subsquare.

Experience

We've released some features regarding identity and we can check them here.

  • Users can see and edit their identity info.
  • Users can see their judgements and request a registrar to give judgement.
  • Users can see the timeline data of their identities.
  • Users can check all on-chain identities and search one by name.
  • Users can check all registrars and their related info including their latest given judgements, total given judgements, etc.

How will we do

Generally as an identity registrar, we will:

  • Remind users to request judgement if their identities still don't have any judgements.
  • Monitor users' request to OpenSquare in our indexing script, verify their social info and give judgements.

Some tech details:

  • Address verification: we will request a signature for an address' verification.
  • Email verification: we may send a code to an user's email.
  • Discord/twitter verification: we may use oauth to verify an user's account.
  • Element: we may request an user to send a given code to our public verification channel to complete a verification.

Most verifications should be done on 1 or 2 pages, and we will try to make these steps as simple as possible.

About the registrar fee, we may set it a value in (0, 0.5] DOT for the 1st time. We don't mind set it 0 if there won't be attacks. We define it as a public service, not a way to generate profit.
