Introduction

Greetings Polkadot Community,

I am Ali Sajadpour, the lead proposer of FURSAN, an ambitious decentralized news verification platform powered by AI and blockchain technologies. FURSAN is designed to combat misinformation and rebuild public trust in journalism by offering a scalable, transparent, and decentralized solution.

This proposal seeks to integrate FURSAN within the Polkadot ecosystem, leveraging its scalability, interoperability, and governance framework. I am presenting this post to solicit feedback, suggestions, and insights from the community to refine and strengthen the proposal.


The Problem

The Misinformation Epidemic

The exponential rise of misinformation has undermined public trust in media and created societal and economic challenges. Traditional centralized solutions lack:

  • Transparency: Their decision-making processes are opaque.
  • Scalability: Unable to handle the sheer volume of misinformation.
  • Inclusivity: They exclude stakeholders like the public and independent journalists.

FURSAN’s Solution

FURSAN offers a decentralized platform that:

  1. Uses AI models to detect fake news with semantic and sentiment analysis.
  2. Incentivizes community participation through decentralized governance and staking.
  3. Ensures scalability and cost-efficiency using Polkadot’s parachain infrastructure.

Key Deliverables

1. Software

  • Fully Functional dApp: A decentralized application for submitting, verifying, and interacting with news articles.
  • Custom Substrate Pallets: Built for:
  • News submission and validation.
  • Validator reputation scoring.
  • Reward distribution.
  • AI Integration: Advanced models for fake news detection, utilizing pre-trained NLP models and real-time sentiment analysis.

2. Infrastructure

  • Deployment on Polkadot: Ensuring scalability, security, and interoperability.
  • Decentralized Storage: Utilizing IPFS or Arweave for immutable and cost-effective data storage.
  • Smart Contracts: Deployed on Substrate, ensuring transparent reward mechanisms and governance.

3. Media Content

  • Educational Resources: Tutorials, videos, and blog posts to engage journalists, validators, and developers.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Promoting transparency and usability through targeted social media outreach.

4. Community Engagement

  • Workshops and Hackathons: To onboard developers and validators.
  • DAO Governance: Empowering the community to influence platform evolution.

  • 50,000 verified news submissions in the first year.

2. Community Engagement

  • Onboard 30 validators and 20 journalists actively contributing to the ecosystem.
  • Establish a governance DAO with 50% participation from stakeholders.

3. AI and Blockchain Integration

  • 85%+ accuracy in fake news detection by AI models.
  • 1,000+ transactions per second (TPS) supported by the Polkadot infrastructure.

4. Content Engagement

  • Achieve 10,000 views and 1,000 interactions across media content within the first 6 months.

Technical Architecture
